Dorothea Lange: Grab a Hunk of Lightning

Watching the documentary on Dorothea Lange, made me realize; how much of an impact she had and the change that occur in American history due to her work.  She photograph America in a the time of the Great Depression, Dust Bowl, World War II Japanese interment camps and famous environmental photography.  Lange photographs capture intimate moments that otherwise would have gone unnoticed had she not set out to save the world and in turn loose herself in the service of others.

“Migrant Mother” was Dorothea Lange most iconic work, capture a moment in time of a mother expression of sorrow, strengths and unwavering American spirit.  Her photo has been use countless times to illustrate the era of the Great Depression and the harsh conditions faced by the immigrants that travel to California.
